董酒产于贵州省遵义市董酒厂，厂址在北郊董公寺，因酒创于此地而得名。董酒属于大曲其他香型白酒，既有大曲酒的浓郁芳香，又有小曲酒的柔绵、醇和、回甜，还有淡雅的药香和爽口的微酸。酒体丰满而协调，酒度分58度和60度两种。该酒特点是酒液清澈透明，香气幽雅舒适，入口醇和浓郁，饮后甘爽味长。


感官鉴别贵州董酒的真假可用以下方法：


商标和包装鉴别
董酒商标为全瓶贴注册一套2张，1张大1张小。大张商标近似桃形，镶黑边，上边大部分为白底，中间有草书“董酒”两个金字，右上角为“贵州董酒”4字的汉语拼音，拼音下方有金色齿轮图案框住的“优”字；白底左下方篆刻印章为红色的“中国名酒”字样，瓶贴下方(即桃形纸尖)有1/5为桔红色，上印黑色仿宋体企业名称和汉语拼音字样。颈标上的桔红色和白色各占一半，呈长条形，上下有黑边，桔红色的上半部印有“贵州董酒”4字的拼音字母，白色的下半部上印有“中国名酒”4字，中间是金色圆圈环绕的一个“董”字，为金色隶书体。该酒的封口盖已从1987年8月起全部改为金属防盗盖。


假冒“董酒”的商标，纸张和印刷质量均差，色彩不准，无桔红色。颈标上的“董”字和瓶贴上的“董酒”两字以及“优”字和齿轮图案，均没有打拱烫金，字色不是金色而是黄色。字体与真酒有明显差异，笔划粗细不匀。有些假商标虽然也打拱烫金，但是字不凸起。酒瓶也是假的。假酒往往采用与董酒相似的瓶子或回收的董酒瓶，重新封口上胶，再贴上伪造的商品标识。


酒质鉴别
董酒的特点如前面所述，品质上乘。而假“董酒”多是杂质酒，口感粗糙，有的甚至是用水兑制的，根本没有真酒的香味。

Dongjiu is produced by Dongjiu Distillery, Zunyi city, Kweizhou Province. Located in the north of Donggongsi, Dongjiu distillery is famous for its set up place. Dongjiu belongs to other fragrance type liquor of Daqu with strong aroma of the Daqu spirit and softness, mellowness and sweetness of the Xiaoqu spirit as well as a sort of quietly elegant medicine fragrance and refreshing slight sour flavor. Its liquid tastes mellow and harmonious. There are two kinds of alcohol degree, one is 58 % (V/V); The other is 60 % (V/V). The characteristics of Dongjiu are clear and transparent liquid, elegant and pleasant aroma, mellow and heavy tasting, and refreshing and sweet aftertaste.


Methods to distinguish the genuine and the fake Dongjiu


Trademark and Packing
Dongjiu's trademark is a set of two pieces' registered whole bottle stick involved a big piece and a small piece. The big trademark looks like a peach type with black lace. Most space on the top of it takes white as background; in the middle of it, there are two golden words "Dongjiu" written in Chinese cursive; on the upper right corner, four Chinese Pin-Yin words, "Guizhou Dongjiu", are printed on it. And Chinese word "You" circled by a golden gear pattern is set under the Pin-Yin. At the left bottom corner, four red Chinese words "Zhong Guo Ming Jiu" are carved on the print. Under the bottle stick (the tip of peach shape), one-fifth part is orange color. The name of the enterprise and Chinese Pin-Yin sample are printed in black Fangsong Font. The orange and white colors shaped in rectangular with black lace on the upper and down sides take a half part respectively at the bottleneck. Four Chinese Pin-Yin letters of "Gui Zhou Dong Jiu" are printed in the upper orange part; Four Chinese words of "Zhong Guo Ming Jiu " are printed at the down white part; in the middle, one word "Dong" circled by golden ring is written in golden Chinese Lishu font. And the cover of Dongjiu has changed the metal anti-counterfeit cover since August 1987.


As for the counterfeit's trademark, the paper and the quality of printing are worse; without orange color, and the color is not comfort to standard. The Chinese word "Dong" printed on the bottleneck and the two Chinese words "Dong Jiu" along with the word "You" and the gear pattern are all not protruded and golden print. These typefaces' color is yellow instead of golden color. There is notable difference on the word between the genuine and the fake. Stroke's degree of thickness is uneven. And wine bottle is the fake either. Moreover, the counterfeits usually use the similar wine bottle or reclaim the genuine wine bottle, and then reseal the glue and stick the fake symbol of commodities.


Liquor Quality
With a fine quality, the characteristics of Dongjiu can be found in above statement. In the respect of the fake product, the liquid is almost impurity liquor with rough tasting, and some are even made through mixing with water. Therefore, the really aroma of the liquor cannot be tasted at all.
